New Paradigm subwoofers replacing PDR series? (1 Viewer)

I just got off the phone with my local Paradigm dealer to ask them what the holdup was with my order (Monitor 7's, CC-370, Titans and a PDR-12) that I placed on April 11. After doing some research into the status of my order, my dealer told me that things may be taking longer than expected because Paradigm is working on a new line of subwoofers.

He said that instead of the PDR-12 I had ordered, I would be getting a newer subwoofer that had "more power, a different woofer, and a slightly different cabinet" than the PDR-12.

Has anybody heard anything about this? I had no idea and didn't see anything about it on Paradigm's website. Is my dealer nuts, or is this really happening? I'm a little bit anxious about getting a brand new, untested product.

Actually, the entire PDR lineup of subs will be changed and the "version 2" tag will be added. Not sure of the differences though.

Well, I just got off the phone with my dealer again, and I asked him some more questions about the new subwoofer. He said it would still be called the PDR-12, but that the new one will be Version 3. He said that the amp is now more powerful (150 watts RMS vs. Version 2's 110), it has a better woofer (although he didn't say how it was better), and the cabinet is narrower. He also said the v3 will be $30 more expensive.

I didn't ask about the other PDR's. Sorry.
