I have WinXP, and a Geforce 4 4400. It is very annoying that the "Optimal" refresh rate setting has long since died. It is annoying to have to run NVRefresh to get proper refresh rates in games.

But the new NVidia drivers have the option to set a refresh rate for each resolution. Fantastic.

Version 40.71 beta, got them at nvidia.com

I can do custom refresh rates with POWERSTRIP. I have it at the max my monitor can handle (83Hz at 1028x768, and for games, 91Hz at 640x480. i know my monitor sucks)

I tried the beta drivers, but when i played CS, the graphics were f-ed up with my GF2GTS

You should be able to do the same thing just through Windows. Just change to the resolution you want and set your refresh rate. Then change back to your desktop resolution. It will remember it. Or, it has in every other version. I haven't done much (any?) PC gaming since upgrading to XP a few months ago.
I guess I burned myself out of online FPS in college. [IMG]
