Sounds like a cross between Lost and Sphere.

Sounds interesting. It will be worth watching the first couple of episodes to see. Unfortunatly it seems these type of shows don't last. Maybe, with the success of lost, it will get a bigger chance.

I'm guessing it will be a platform for preachy environmentalism (which no matter where you stand on the subject is unlikely to make for good television IMHO).

You have the "Invasion" show that is going to be premiering on ABC. Lots of Lost type clones.

And apparently Threshold on CBS. Although none of these really sound like Lost clones (because, hey, Lost would have to feature some sort of cryptozoological component, and when was the last time that happened?); rather, networks are just noticing the same thing they noticed with The X-Files - the public likes science fiction so long as it doesn't look much like science fiction.

I would argue the lesson learned is that the public likes well written shows no matter what the genre.
