I'm considering building a new PC. Looking for recommendations for online retailers that have some good deals on motherboard & processor combinations. Any motherboard recommendations would be appreciated too.

I second Newegg. I have purchased many components from them and have really been impressed with their service and prices. I had to get an RMA for a stick of DDR RAM and they cross-shipped a new stick and I had it in two days.

    www.tigerdirect.com
About the easiest parts site to navigate....easy to understand exactly what you're getting. That's the only complaint I have about newegg. They have great prices and service, but a 12 year old could have done a better job with their website.

i bought my combo from www.jncs.com.
they'll put it together for you and test the board and memory too. plus it came very nicely packaged - they even include the original boxes.
i bought the asus p4b533-E combo (2.53/512mb). love it!

newegg and googlegear are both excellent.

I just bought all the parts for a new PC from newegg. Everything shipped on time (same day shipping, overnight delivery).

    Highly recommended.

I would also recommend Newegg though it is not typical for it to ship same day (Usually 2-3 days later), so if you are shipping ground expect your shipment to be around 1 week or a little more depending on where you live.

Ted, JNCS is HIGH! Man, their prices on mboard bundles are at least 10-15% higher than anywhere else I've seen. Newegg and Pricewatch are what I've used. TCWO is good too.

oh well, for my first time and considering that they test everything before shipping, i'll bite the bullet this time. i really wanted to make sure that i received working components for my first building project.
now i know...thx for the tip!
