Well, my Mitsu 46809 is coming tomorrow morning, now what? I've read where it is recommended to turn down contrast and brightness, but how far? What else should I be doing for my break-in period? Any and all info is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Turn the contrast down to at least 50% and adjust the color accordingly. Get the set off "torch" mode, which is designed to make pictures stand out in stores and which will destroy your set in as short a time as possible.

Then get/rent the Avia test DVD and calibrate according to the instructions on the DVD.
