New law could limit our DVD viewing!!!!! (1 Viewer)

There is a new law in the senate that would make it so a DVD is only viewable once or only plays in the original player. This is pretty rediculous if you ask me. Read the story here Link Removed

OK, this has A been around for quite awhile and B-would not affect the DVD-Video format

The movie/record industry are always trying to push measure through like this, it never works. And even if it did, look at how well DIVX did. They may kick and scream, but the only place you're going to see flags like this is on PPV and premium channel broadcasts. Maybe the occasional special they intend to put on video soon afterwards

And there will always be players of various sorts that ignore the flags altogether. Many Apex players and PC software/hardware decoders already do.
