Im a 20 year audiophile looking to instal a home theater in my home.

I want to use a front projection unit and a pull down screen.

My room demension are 17X13

I will have modest light control.

Ive had great luck over the years with Ebay with both home and car audio equipment.

Do the CRT projectors with the 3 CRTs preform as well as DLPs and the like?

I read that the RGB CRTs still out perform.

I passed up an Electrohome Projector that was supposedly around 12 grand when it was new but sold for 1500.00 on ebay. Are 4 to 7 year old units any good provided they work right ?

I went to a Bang and Olfsen Dealer and watched a 15,000.00 DLP and thought thats about the video quality id like to have. But felt it was way over priced.

I saw a Vidikron crt projector >>4 years old that would impress by todays standards. What was the model of the Electrohome and what is your budget?

Im only looking to spend about 2 grand tops on a projector by itself.

I really havent researched it but i doubt i could find something new for this price that i would want to keep.

From what ive read so far, the projector is absolutley the most important component in the video chain.

I dont remember what the electrohome model was. In the picture the thing was sitting on a rolling pallet though........it was pretty big.

chris: i know AVSFORUM has a whole section on PJ.
you will get better response over there. i am not sure about CRT PJ but i am looking for one also (LCD PJ)

Z2 is in my mind. it's $2000 or less.
