    Hi,

I have been evaluating options for a average Home Theater setup and have decided on the following:

    Receiver
    ------------
    Yamaha RXV 1200 or 1300 ($800 approx.)

    Speakers + Subwoofer
    ---------------------
Polk Audio RM 6600 ($1000 approx.)

    DVD Player
    -----------
    Toshiba SD 5700 ($300 approx.)

Please comment on my choices and any alternatives that you feel are good.

Also, I would like to find out if there are good online companies offering 6 months or 1 year Pricing Plans (like the Wiz and Best Buy).

    Thanks for all you help.

I like Yamaha, they make some very nice receivers. A suggested alternative would be a Denon 3802 for $699 at 6th Ave. Electronics. You'd get more power per channel than the Yamaha, and ability to have 7.1 playback rather than just 6.1.

I recently switched from Yamaha to Denon, so I have admiration for Yammy receivers, but I'm now a Denon man, so that's why I'm suggesting it this way in case you're wondering.

I garuntee you will be very happy with either machine. Have fun!
