first post here

fully-finished walk out basement...am turning it into a home theater/main tv/music room...I have shopped around...listened some...have decided on getting Paradigm bookshelf mini-monitor speakers (though someone recently said I should also listen to the Klipsch RB-51)

receivers:

Denon AVR-1907...$521
Denon AVR-2106...$399 at Best Buy (though they now say it's unavailable)
had a Yamaha few years ago but not sure what model

basically, I want a decent receiver in the $400 range that has close (or over) to 100W per channel...can support multiple rooms (will eventually have 2 outdoor speakers and 2 in-wall speakers on the main level living room...and will sound good with both music and movies

are there any receivers out there that fall into the price range and will give me what I need (beyond buying from a company that is not an authorized dealer)?

thanks in advance for you help/input

i think the Pioneer 1016 just might do it for you for $400 through Amazon.

Thank you for the feedback. I will look it up

Just did some research on Tweeter, BestBuy, and CircuitCity. Searching all 2+ room capability and THD of less than .1%...results below

What are your opinions on:

- Denon AVR687 ($399)
- Yamaha HTR5950 ($399)
- Panasonic SA-XR57K ($399)
- Sony STR-DE800 ($399)
- Onkyo TX-SR603X ($349)

The Panasonic is $280 at J&R

of all those its the only one using class-D Equibit amps. It does great with Paradigms (I have a XR25 + 4x Atoms) though the 'digms work well with almost anything
