The cover art just sucks for part 5 and 6.
At least with parts 1-4 they kept the original movie poster art for the cover.
Studios just do not get it. These new DVD covers look VERY cheesy. These are almost as bad as the covers for Jurassic Park and Lost World.
I will still get them but I wish they would keep the original poster for the DVD art.

Not too get the thread too far off topic, but how are the first four discs? How is the video and are there any plans for a re-release on these?
    Thanks,
    C. Ryan

    Hi
The only time there will be a re-release is if Paramount do them justice and release a decent box set.
I will also be getting 5 and 6, I should have them soon. I am also a big fan of the original cover art.
If you would like a nice SE of Part 7, there is a petition online you should look into signing.

The video quality is pretty good. They are anamorphic and while the video quality is no 'Gladiator,' they look pretty damn good, especially considering their age and original quality.
I would even buy them if you are not even a big fan of the Friday movies. I will own all of them through number 8. No way in hell I would pay for Jason Goes to Hell.

First 4 do look nice and from what I have seen so do 5 and 6
I can not wait for 7 and 8, expect good things from 7 and also Jason Goes To Hell will be a SE I am sure, So I will pick that up when it is released.

I noticed at WalMart yesterday that they had VHS copies of the first Friday the 13th which also has new butt-ass ugly artwork done in the same manner as the dvd art for 5&6.
Friday fans that don't yet have parts 1-4 may want to pick them up now, Just in case Paramount starts pressing future copies with the new unimproved artwork.

For whoever was aksing about the first 4 titles; they look great!! The best ive ever seen them look. All they have is the trailer and the films are in anamorphic widescreen and DD 2.0 mono which sound standard for the age of the films.
I just ordered pt 6 (Ill get pt 5 later.) Pt 6 is my favorite.
