    Denon 4802 (late August) - $2499
    Onkyo 797 (Sept?) - $999
    Onkyo 898 (Sept?) - $1499
(and therefore Integra 7.2 and 8.2's)
    Harman Kardon AVR-8000 (fall) $2299?
Marantz 7200 and 8200? (not sure if they'll have THX EX)
that's a start. anyone care to add some more?

New Kenwoods are on the way.
Denon 3802 is available (limited) now.
Sony should join the mix soon with their ES line.

Don't forget the two new JVC receivers.
    RX-DP10VBK $ 1,499.99
THX ULTRA with bulit in amps for all channels
    RX-DP9VBK $ 999.99
THX SELECT (must add amps. for back surround channels)
These are not your run of the mill JVC receivers. From the pictures in the JVC catalog the insides on them look a lot like the Sony "ES" series. Maybe JVC is going after the "ES" line?

I was planning on buying a Pioneer Elite VSX-35TX in the next couple of weeks but am wondering now if they have a replacement model coming with amps for the EX rear channel. Does anyone know for sure?

I have one concern about DTS discrete. Is there any chance that we will see any more software besides the two or tree titles that have been released in one year.
I guess I will have to ask that question to DTS directly , but I feel that DTS discreet might already be obsolete.

Oliver, I think as more new titles are released in theaters with DTS ES we will then see them released on DVD the same way. I think it is just a matter of waiting for the new movies to arrive.

    Onkyo 797 (Sept?) - $999
    Onkyo 898 (Sept?) - $1499
Will these receivers have an upgrade capability? Just curious.

I have been a longtime Onkyo supporter and these are the receivers I am focusing on. Onkyo has no information available on these as of yet per an email I received from them.
They directed me towards their website for the most recent information.
Given the price range and past history, I can see the 898 being upgradeable, the 8xx series have typically been the "bargain" 9xx offerings.
I find it doubtfull that the 797 will be software upgradeable given it's price. The features offered by the 898 do not justify the price difference (797 vs 898) unless they offered something significant over the 797, like the software upgradeability or the new LCD remote.
Just my 2cents based on speculation.

    Pioneer Elite VSX-49TX and VSX-47TX.
Both THX Ultra with DTS-Es and THX EX modes and 7 channels of amplification.
I have seen conflicting reports on Pro Logic II support.

I think you may be able to add Outlaw's Pre-pro to that as well.

"but I feel that DTS discreet might already be obsolete."
I remember when some said this about just plain ol' DTS [IMG]
Not much more than a year ago. I share your concerns, though. I picked up a Denon 5800 with the DTS-ES discreet option to take advantage of more than just "Gladiator."
    I'm sure they are forthcoming.
Even without the discreet encoding, the matrixed sound of DTS discs sounds incredible. It definitely fills a void in the rear soundfield.
It seems that the hardware end is being taken care of. Software is traditionally a little behind, probably to make sure there's enough of a market to take advantage of a "special" mix like DTS-ES or DD-EX.
