Dear Home Theater Forum Members:

I noticed some older topics posted here from several years ago related to the ubercool fanfilm "Batman: Dead End", and I wanted to share some news about my own fanfilm, "The Dark Knight Project", which has it's online world premiere this Monday, July 14th, but you can all have an advance sneak peek HERE!

The Dark Knight Project

I came up with the idea in May after seeing the IMAX Preview online... what could have happened between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" regarding the public's reaction to Batman and whether he was real or not after the attacks in the Narrows... and Gordon's cryptic concerns regarding "escalation"? Warners' extensive viral marketing and what's been happening in Gotham since the end of "Batman Begins" was a big jumping off point too.

Since I doubt WB will ever hire me to direct a Batman movie (and besides, I'm happy it's already in the capable hands of Chris Nolan)... I decided to make one myself. So I gathered my dedicated band of Chicago crimefighter/filmmakers, and within a month, we shot the film you can see above! It's a $14,000 HD fanfilm shot on the Canon XK H1, and I'm giving it away for free to Batman fans in celebration of the upcoming "Dark Knight".

If you like what you see, please share a link to the website, THE DARK KNIGHT PROJECT with your friends on Monday where the larger, hi-res movie will debut.

Made by fans, FOR FANS! I hope you all enjoy it!

Best Wishes-

Jerry Vasilatos

(P.S. there are a few digital effects shots that will be swapped out prior to the Monday release, so yes, I know the Batman roofdrop is not quite composited right but it will be ;-)

Good job! The video was entertaining and I liked the concept behind it. It was very well shot and had some surprisingly good production values. If anything, the acting is a bit spotty, but good job. :)
