That's going to be a pain to fit onto the DVD shelf.

Don't get me wrong, it looks great. But in the end, practicality is out the window.

That is badass [IMG] If the eye moves I'm going to go on a Lambert style naked dance [IMG]

(And before anyone says anything, yes it is technically a noggin [IMG] )

I AM disgusted that they have removed any semblence of the real cast from the cover, and replaced the beautiful painting. It's not TOO bad as photoshopped covers go, but it's quite obvious that as I have been saying they wish to replace and destroy the original as much as possible in the public eye, as not ONE piece of the new art features human actors

    Jeff: LOL

you know what looking at that case again it sorta looks like maybe the cylon is attached to a metal slip case in the same vain as the T2 ultimate had. so perhaps the regular case underneath has the normal artwork and whatnot. so you may have your choice what to use.

Interesting. Not very practical at all. And shipping overseas, or even within the US, is likely to cause damage.

Somehow I think a moving single red-eye would be a bit too complicated -- and therefore expensive -- than say Pink Floyd's initial release of Pulse which had a single red LED in the spine blinking.

That is way cool. And if the eye moves it's icing on the cake.

Practical or not, that is pretty damn cool looking!

JEFF LIKES NOGGIN COVERS! JEFF LIKES NOGGIN COVERS!!!!

    *duck*

Actually Jeff, I agree with Aryn on this. Chances are it's probably a metal slip-cover with a standard keepcase underneath, so hopefully that will feature some of the cast. [IMG]

The edited down version of the pilot that was released theatrically with a different ending is a seperate release. The original 3 hour version of the pilot as seen on t.v. will be in this release.
This is one of the best packages I have seen. Definately looks bargain priced now. I haven't seen any $59.95 retail T.V. with packaging like that.

I say skip the gimmicky packaging and lower the price. That doesn't even look like a Cylon.

Actually the ending is basically the same. The BIG difference is

After Baltar has served his purpose, the Cylons behead him. In the series they spare him

At the risk of dating myself, that Cylon looks *just* like those Empire Strikes Back lightswitch covers Kenner used to make.

Now, if you could take that helmet off and throw it up on your home theater lightswitch, that would be pretty cool. [IMG]

i have to agree with Jeff.
cute but useless, and my cabinets are cramped for space as it is.
paying more for a 'feature' that actually will be a hassle to deal with tends to ramp my enthusiasm down a notch or two.
after those two crappy Artisan metal covers, i've kind of had it with 'unique' packaging.
i'll take functional over form any day of the week, nd be happy.

Now that's one cool looking cover! Here's hoping that with this specialized cover, it will make it too costly for Universal to produce bilingual cases for the Canadian market. [IMG]

Hmmm.....I wonder if this case is gonna need batteries?
