ehhh not too impressed, no real big change. At the same time kinda thankful that it's not a step in the wrong direction either. Here's hoping for 450+hp. [IMG]

Thanks for posting the link Chuck!

hey no prob Scott! I've been lurking at corvette forum for about a year, and everyday, the speculation about the C6 grew. Earlier this week, photos of the C6 shell (no windows, tires, lights see below) were exposed. But the latest pics have created the most excitement by far. Most are oppsed to the front end styling which includes fixed headlamps and a less than aggressive nose.

    According to credible sources at the forum, the base C6 will have a new LS2 6.0L V8 at 405hp while the Z06 gets a 500hp LS7 6.4L V8. And there's a rumor of a 625hp super C6!

I'm a regular poster on the Corvette Forum (Tim2KVert) and think that the new C6 looks great! It's not a big departure from the C5 (which I love [IMG] ) but I think it looks a little more aggressive. Add in 405HP for the coupe and vert and an upgraded interior and I'm sold. Looks like a HR for Chevy in my book. [IMG]

From that initial picture, the front end looks to be borrowing from the Dodge Viper a bit. Looks good to me.

Nope, The best damn vette ever is still the "sting-ray".

This is coming from a MOPAR person, if I was given the opertunity to buy any GM product I wanted, it would be a Stingray....

That side view has Marenello written all over it. I dig it.

Anybody want to take a couple of kids off my hands?[IMG]

The past few Corvettes have borrowed from the Viper heavily. I like the snake much better. But I have to agree the Stingray was the best.

Hasn't the C5 been around since before the first viper? Or perhaps right after?

To my recollection, the first viper came out in the early 90's, i believe during that time it was the 'vette C4...

    FYI Viper 1992, C5 1997

Anyway, take a closer look at the new Viper, and you'll see that the C6 only slightly resembles it IMO. I think the fixed headlights are throwing people off.

There's definitely borrowing from the Ferrari pictured above...esp the rear fender line that cuts into the door.

You be the judge... IMHO, the headlights and the hood bear some resemblances

Honestly, I see a closer resemblance to the RX-7 than the viper...

    (Maybe it's the lower hoodline)
Eh, they're just switching which part of the car looks like the RX (one of the best looking cars ever IMO)

Besides, to a certain point, the front is one of the areas where they have less design leeway... there are some things they NEED to have... kinda drives the look (like how all lemans-type supercars look similar)
