I follow tvshowsondvd on Facebook and they mentioned a Carol Burnett dvd mega set. The description and picture looked like it was just a rerelease of the last time life deluxe set several years ago but I wasn’t sure. I asked tvshowsondvd in the comments but they probably don’t know since they deleted my question entirely. Does anyone here know for sure if this is a rerelease or new release?

Is it this? A friend sent me this link the other day. I believe this is all stuff they have released before. The red "best of" set came out a few years ago combining repeat episodes with several new-to-DVD ones, but a lot of the new episodes were cut, some severely. (There is also a smaller version with fewer discs with a gold cover-- that one is all repeated shows from other sets.) The final show is in its own case separately. I believe if you find these individually such as on ebay, you'd save a lot of money. Then the "11 Years" thing is all episodes they released previously.

This thread
explains all the various Carol Burnett DVD releases. If you're trying to collect what's out there, it's basically essential reading since the various Time-Life sets seem to have been designed to intentionally confuse people about their contents.

Thanks, in a way this is what I was asking. I have this set and follow the cb show sets closely as they are very confusing. The only reason I ask is because tvshowsondvd is touting this as a new release, which it did not look like to me. They usually have a rerelease label on their announcement if it is a rerelease and they did not this time. Due to the confusion timelife likes to create around their cb releases I felt it could go either way and be new or a rerelease. I am going to assume it is a rerelease.

If you scroll through that site they list every episode included in this "new" collection. I haven't A/B'd them against the ones I have but I am pretty sure it's the same set they've had out there before.

Yes, it's a "New" release, or rather a "New" compilation. I did a bit of comparison (*not* comprehensive though) to my sets and everything I checked was duplicated (about 20 episodes) in this "new" set - just in different orders with stuff taken from just about every prior release TL has done. It's another case of them milking prior releases and hoping people don't notice.

Considering all the previous releases are OOP (at least I think they are) this'd be a decent set for someone who doesn't own *any* CB.
