    You're right about the underwhelming new UHD player announcements.

    I wouldn't buy ANY player again that merely PROMISES a Dolby Vision update. I bought a Philips 7502 last fall which promised a DV update by year's end, and in December it was announced the DV upgrade wouldn't happen until the first quarter of 2018, so I'm still waiting for DV support. I've learned my lesson.

    I was going to upgrade. However, it's an expensive purchase and I wanted the ButtKickers first.

    I still don't know how well downconverted 4k looks.

    Probably will pick one up this month.

    The freezing issues have reduced considerably since the last firmware update, to maybe once every two months at most. (knock on wood)
