    According to Music Tap

"Again, I just have a schedule listing but on November 18, Capitol has a Beatles title (get this - TBD). More info to follow as it becomes available."

Can it be the long rumored "Get Back/Let it Be" collection?
Hi-Rez??? Some new collection for the X-Mas season??

    Old story in Rolling Stone

A while back I read somewhere about a de-Spectorized version of "Let it Be" w/o all the overproduced strings.

This looks interesting...I guess we will have to wait to see what it is exactly.

I'd bet it's the 'de-Spectorized' Let it Be which RS wrote about, and Ringo answered questions about, several months ago.

Bottom line for me--I'll pretty much buy whatever it is. But I'm hoping for either the non-Spectorized Let It Be/Get Back or a hi-rez of any existing album (preferably post-Help though I love all the Beatles stuff).

    Dennis,

Great reference to Simon & Garfunkel from one of their best albums.

Yes, the Simple Desultory Phillipic didn't make much sense to me back when I was in high school in the 1960's, but it is a lot funnier now.

"Folk rock" (clunk) "I lost my harmonica, Albert"...

Doesn't Sony own Capitol? I get confused about the corporate structures these days.

I believe EMI owns capital and Sony and Michael Jackson own the publishing rights to the Beatles material. So EMI, which releases both formats, would be involved in the decision making process should any Beatles hi-rez be released. I would expect that perhaps by CES in Jan. we may have more news or more rumors.

Doesn't AOL Time Warner (Soon to be Time Warner??) own everyone that Microsoft doesn't?
Who'd have thought instead of Communism and capitalism you'd be able to divide the world that way

I find it hard to believe that there will be any other "official" Beatle related product released on 11/18 other than the announced "Concert for George" DVD.

I'd LOVE to be wrong though.

For those waiting for the Beatles on hi-rez, you'll be hearing about that WAY in advance with the kind of hype not seen since the Anthology project. It won't creep up on you.

Capitol (owned by EMI)l has not released any SACD discs in the US, only DVD Audio. They have the US rights to the recordings by the Beatles. Sony/MJ may own publishing rights to the songs, but that is of no consequence. Any Beatles product released domesstically in Hi Rez will be DVD Audio for the foreseeable future.

Correction: Capitol is releasiong SACD discs according to an ad I saw in an audiophile magazine.
