New AV with Pre out for Denon Amp (1 Viewer)

Current setup is AVR2700 w/ older Denon POA-2400, B&W 640 fronts, Polk Center and Sur. , Mirage Sub.

Been looking at the Newer Denon amps and the Onkyo SR706 AV reciever(CC has open box for under 500.00)

Is it wise to keep my seperate amp for my fronts? I moved to a different house and where the TV/Stereo is. This room is now smaller. The system does not sound as good as my open great room I had.

I know the POA2400 is pretty powerful. Will it help keep the newer style AV rcvr cooler etc...?
Still trying to decide...... Denon or Onkyo

Looking at the Denon 2808 and the 3808 along with the Onyko TX Sr 706 and the 806. Both seem like great units. I have been a Denon Fan so the 2808 looks real good. Just been search and reading the forums comparing them all.
Looking for a unit that plays well with Ipod andf MP3 players.

Also maybe for computer hookup or MP3 strorage/playback?????
