My AV system will be as follows:

1. Pioneer Elite Kuro 111FD 50" Plasma
2. Integra 5.9 AVR
3. Sony S550 BD player
4. Toshiba HD-A30 HD player
5. Oppo Digital DV-981HD Multi-Regional DVD player
6. DirecTV HR21 PRO HD DVR
7. Panasonic LX-200U LaserDisc player
8. JVC VCR
9. JVC turntable or ION turntable
10. Paradigm Cinema Speakers
11. SVS Powered Sub

A big investment that needs protection. I'm looking at products for protection. My 1st choice at this point in time is the - Audio Power Industries Power Wedge 1118.

I’m also looking at these other products:
1.Home Theater Reference HTS 5100 MKII PowerCenter with Clean Power Stage 4 v.2.1
2.Signature Series Home Theater Reference HTPS 7000 MKII PowerSource with Dual Balanced Pure Power Transformers and Clean Power Stage 5
3.APC S Type Power Conditioner with Battery Backup
4.Furman - Elite 20 PF - i - Power Conditioner
5.Furman - IT - Reference 7 - i - Power Conditioner
6.Panamax MAX 5400-PM

I'm interested in your opinions &/or experiences with any or all of these products regarding their use, any issues, any hints & recommendations.

Why the HR21 Pro when you can get the HR22 with twice as much storage?

Which SVS sub? There is a lot between the 10" and the 13" ultra.

I have no experience with the Power Wedge you favor, but as you have made a considerable investment and are considering a consumer, high-end conditioner, you ought to consider a unit that provides a UPS as well as surge protection.

If course if Toledo’s power supply really does not have interruptions (the momentary kind) this might be overkill, but if you occasionally have to reset the clock on your microwave (for example) getting a UPS is a good investment.

I have 3 APC UPS/surge protector/voltage regulator units (computer equipment, HT and bedroom TV) in my home and they work very well. I don’t have personal experience with the other products, although Furman is certainly a reliable company. Belkin’s products are sound as well, although I don’t know if they make units as upscale as you are considering.

Toledo HAS power supply interruptions! The power went down for 2.5 hours last Saturday night.

The APC S Type Power Conditioner with Battery Backup meets the UPS requirement.

More opinions & experiences wanted. THX!
