It sounds like your experience is completely different from mine. Do you use Apples default music app? And it shows your whole library? I’ve never it seen it do that in a year of occasional use.
Yes, correct - and the vast, vast majority of my Library is my ripped CD collection.
“A year of use” couldn’t be under the current version of tvOS - make sure it is all up to date. Also, IIRC, you have a Mac & iPhone - is your Library identical between the two? (it should be, other than cloud vs. downloaded versions of albums/songs).
If not, you may need to resync

AppleTV is trrrible as a music system if you’re not all-in on Apple as the music provider...such as being a Music subscriber.
Apparently Pandora has an aTV app, Spotify does not https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ot...not-listed-in-Apple-TV-App-Store/td-p/1607834

(not sure what, if anything you are using as a streaming service). I ended up getting Apple Music for three reasons:
1) to use as an equivalent to iTunes Match;
2) Many available music videos (which Spotify didn't (do they now?) support videos - at the time Spotify also required Flash for macOS/Safari making it a non-starter.)
3) Great commercial free radio from Beats 1 - absolutely love Start Making Sense (DJ is Jehnny Beth from Savages).
Streaming audio itself turned out to be far more rewarding than I ever suspected - I've found more great jazz in two years with Apple Music than I did in many decades without it.

I use Pandora free on my TiVo. :)
I don't subscribe to the music services. Nothing against them. Just don't listen to music enough these days. Because I do subscribe to Audible for books.

So, in that case definitely get the Pandora aTV app - no guarantees obviously, but why not try it out?

It’s already on my tivo and that’s where my TV lives :)

I use the AppleTV for things the tivo can’t do: Trailers app, and Emby app. Sometimes YouTube. But tivo is about as good for that all in all.
