My favorites are 'It's A Gift" and "Million Dollar Legs". Criterion did release a dvd "W.C. Fields 6 Short Films" and worth looking at.

What are his most notable films and is this one of them?

I think It's a Gift and The Bank Dick are the two funniest films he ever made, but you can get his essence in many films from the 1930s and 1940s. You Can't Cheat an Honest Man, Never Give a Sucker an Even Break, Poppy, Mississippi all have some of the best of Fields.

The documentary "W.C. Fields: Straight Up" (1986) narrated by Dudley Moore is out of print on dvd so it would be a nice extra on a future release of his films.
