Ray? Kate Rose? Susan Whitnell? WTF?

    Otherwise, the images look cool.

What's wrong with the original names? There is a bigger question that needs to be answered, however. How do you make a story that makes almost no sense into a movie that would appeal to a mainstream audience?

Just what was the point of the series? Teen alienation? Religion? Who knows? I'm not sure that the original filmmakers even had a clue as to what the themes of the original series were supposed to be.

The original series is predominantly about what makes us human. The Angels are supposed to be lifeforms that could have existed besides us, but the final Angel represents the combination of Angels and Humans. In one sense, we (humans) were the original Angel (in Adam) and the last Angel (in the sense that were are still on the planet). Shinji's experiences in the series are supposed to show what makes us human (depression, anxiety, hate, anger, love, lust, sorrow, pain, pleasure, happiness, joy, and pretty much every other emotion are at one point or another highlighted).

The big question is how much of the story they plan on putting in the movie.
