Well, since Shrek 2 beat out Finding Nemo as the top grossing CGI film, maybe Nemo should get a makeover :b

Yeah, Toy Story 2 was a real dog.

And, no Disney won't be doing the sequel for two reasons: (1) Pixar, not Disney owns this property and (2) Pixar is about to leave Disney.

Actually isn't it Disney that owns the property and not Pixar which is why talks of Toy Story III are still in works after Disney leaves and which was one of the big factors of Pixar leaving.

    BTW, great pic! [IMG]

Nope. Disney owns the rights to all of the Pixar films/characters to date, up through and including "Cars" in 2005.

They are free to make as many sequels to these films as they want, with or without Pixar's permission or participation.

That really was a Pixar-made film. They put so much effort into what was intended to be a DTV release that it was worthy of cinema release.

Any sequel to Nemo is likely to be by Disney alone - and we've all seen the care and effort that Disney put into their sequels - even those they decide to release into cinema.

If there was a Pixar-made sequel, I would be there opening day. If there was a Disney-made sequel, based on the quality of other Disney sequels, I would pray for a fire to destroy the film.

Interestingly, a Nemo prequel would have been Omen. Or is that an anagram?

    Hi Matthew,

Thats not entirely true about toy story 2. Disney did want a direct to video sequel but Pixar refused to do it so they agreed they would make a proper sequel rather than what Disney originally wanted.

No, Toy Story 2 was conceived and started as a DTV sequel, and Pixar worked on it, but after the first screening all involved decided it was good enough to bump up to theatrical.
