Well, these releases once again got delayed - hopefully for the last time - these are all to come out on 8/19 to coincide with Mr. Young's (& Crazy Horse's) new CD Greendale. Which will be available as a single cd-only or double cd + dvd of an accompanying movie he shot for the cd.

    i know - i can't spell - but i try

According to the Feb. issue of MOJO:

"Autumn 2006 also sees Young opening up his archives and releasing the first of four box sets. The first - planned as an eight-disc set with eight DVDs - will cover his career from 1963-72...."

Ahh! The long rumored Neil Young Boxset!

I remember when it was first announced in the early 90's, under the title "Decade 2". It was then re-announced about 95 under the title "Archives", and rumored to be 6 CD's and 4 VHS tapes. Some of the material rumored was a shelved follow up to "Harvest", and a 2 disc "Bluenotes" live album, also shelved.

I for one can not wait for these to come out!! Neil Young is like Dylan in the asspect that his unreleased material is as facinating as the actual studio work.

The main reason he pushed the release of the boxed set back the last time[from what i remember]is that he thought the set'd be too expensive and nobody'd buy it.

This has to be a record for bringing up the oldest thread. It is been over 2-1/2 years since someone had posted to this thread before yesterday. Nothing add, just an observation.

I haven't read any of the press releases regarding the upcoming Neil Young releases. What formats will be released? I have his Greatest Hits on DVD in 96Khz/24-bit and love it. I don't have any Neil Young on DVD-A and I doubt there will be any more of those released but don't know if the Greatest Hits DVD was a success.
