You really should show "Inside Moves" as one of the 5. It's much quieter and offbeat than most of Richard Donner's work. It has a great ensemble cast with Diana Scarwid shining in her supporting role that deservedly won her an Academy Award Nomination.

Definitely Lethal Weapon and Maverick. Goonies is next, methinks barely edging out Ladyhawk.

Lethal Weapon
Ladyhawke
The Toy
3 very distinct and different films. With the two you've chosen, it should make for a very diverse night.

Well, if you want three really good Richard Donner films (besides the ones you've already listed), I'd have to go with Scrooged, Radio Flyer, and Maverick. If you want three films that probably carry more signifigance with him and his career, then Lethal Weapon, The Goonies, and again, Radio Flyer.
Anyways, good luck! Sounds like a great event!

The Radio Flyer

The Radio Flyer is at the top because for me because, I was in tears by the end of this movie, It was just Spectacular.

Resurrecting an old thread: After SUPERMAN and THE OMEN...
LETHAL WEAPON: This is an absolute must. I never saw it on the big screen, so this would be fantastic. It IS one of THE best action films ever.
RADIO FLYER: The film truly moved me. What a shame it never found an audience. Again, didn't see it in a theater.
CONSPIRACY THEORY: I'm one of the fans.
Does the theater in Stamford have a true 5.1 sound system? Which theater in Stamford is it? My girlfriend lives in that town and I'm just 45 minutes away, so if these prints will be in true surround, I'll be there (especially if we can get Superman in DD5.1).

If you want to impress Donner himself and introduce the audiences to an underappreciated title many may not have seen over the years, definitely track down a copy of Inside Moves (1980). Such a cool little movie.
