My son has a new KeyBoard to hopefully record some of his tunes he has wrote, his PC is w98 and Windows Media Encoder 9 will not work on it so that option is out and I can't find a older version any where so far.

We bought him Studio Producer program but that only works with MIDI cables which we also has but is not for Line In recording. The Producer program is great for writing music with the MIDI but does not sound the same as the real keyboard sounds so I figured to come out of the headphone jack to the line in on the PC and record.

Any one know what is a good/easy and cheep solution for this.

cheap and easy would be the built into windows wave recorder, it is a bare minimum recorder which makes it easy to use and it comes with windows.

Audacity is a program I hear about a lot it's freeware as well:

Downloaded Audacity and it works great, and it will Export/save it as a Wav to burn directly to CD.
Thanks for the Help!
