Here is my list of subs I am looking at for my new setup. The new setup will be an Onkyo 703, Polk RTi8's for the fronts, FXi3's for the rears and the Polk CSi5 for the center.

Here is my short list of subs.

    1) HSU STF-3
    2) Velodyne DPS-12
    3) Velodyne DLS5000R
    4) SVS PB12-ISD
    5) SVS 20-30 PCI

My room is around 15'wide x 17'deep from the back wall to the seating area with 10' ceilings. It is an open floor plan that goes on into the kitchen area.

    Any help is appreciated.

Sunfire, Sunfire, Sunfire you need to find 1 and feel ( listen)to the difference. I have been playing with all of the $400-700 subs as well as building my own. It never knew.

I have a 20-39PCi in my 12' X 37' and I am happy. My girlfriend's stepson has a 25-30PCi in a smaller room and his also sounds great. If I ever have a "money is no object" opportunity to put together a system it will include an SVS sub. That said the others listed are also respected.

It looks like I will probably get the 20-39PCI. I am going to send a diagram of my living room to SVS for some help in positioning it.

I have the STF-3 - excellent! Very good price to performance ratio.
