Im looking into replacing my old rear projection TV.
Only problem is anything close to 50 inches and LCD or Plasma is out rageous over here. So now im looking into a projector just i dont know much about them.
Are they capable of HD or with the 1080 I or P. Whatever it is now. Do they all have High Def?

Well, I'm pretty happy with my 65" Mitsubishi DLP rear-projection TV. It is true 1920x1080 hi def, will handle I and P versions, and does a great job upscaling DVD. I think that, for the price, the quality is excellent.

Just haul yourself down to one of the big box electronic stores, or go to a home theater boutique and take a look. The difference in price for a falt-screen versus RP just wasn't worth it to me.

I love my projector. I have the Mitsubishi HD1000, which is a 720p DLP projector. It's replacement is the HC1500, and costs about $800. 720p projectors are very inexpensive(at least in the USA). 1080p projectors are still too expensive for me. Not all projectors are HD. The 480p projectors will accept a HD signal, then downscale it to 480p. With the prices of 720p projectors so low now, it would be silly to buy a 480p projector.
