need advice on selecting an AV receiver... it seems that even though i just want some simple features, i am struggling mightily in finding something affordable to drive my monitor.

my requirements...

1) 4 HDMI inputs minimum
2) stereo audio output minimum
3) 2 zone/room audio output (A/B speakers)
4) 1 component video/audio input minimum
5) AM/FM

seems that the 2 zone feature knocks me out of the $200 to $300 range, and up to $500, which i would rather avoid. also the component video input seems to be hit and miss as well.

i am using a non-video audio receiver now, with and HDMI switch with audio extraction. the HDMI switch is sketchy, and needs to be replaced, and i figured i would just go to an AV receiver, but struggling.

any suggestions?

Yeah, you aren’t going to find all that in the $2-300 range. If you can find something for $500, you should go for it. Pioneer is traditionally a feature-laden brand, and their cheapest receiver with everything you listed lists for $700 and sells at Amazon for $600.
