hi, im thinking of upgrading my subwoofer cause my cheap onkyo sub is just too muddy sounding, its annoying. i plan on getting either a velodyne CHT-10 or CHT-8. my basement is real small. its 18 by 10. my fronts are Klipsch SB-3. Im thinking that the CHT-10's might be overkill. im not really sure if they match well with my fronts. any suggestions?

Definitely go listen to those velodynes as you may be very pleased with them. Also take a look at the low-end Hsu subs.

I would buy a dayton sub and save the 300$ for a sweet sub.

For your budget you could shold consider the Adire Rava. It is a great sub for the money and at $399 it would fall into your budget.

adire rava is good choice, if you looking for something a bit smaller, creativesound.ca offers a smaller sub for $359, it uses adire 10" driver, and performs on par with a rava.

thanks for the suggestions. the adire rava sub looks sweeet. do u guys think a 12inch woofer would be overkill in a 18 X 10 room? and would a low frequency sub be worth buying with my front speakers? i have klipsch sb3, which are 52Hz-20kHz±3dB.
