I will be returning my Toshiba 27A41 to Best Buy for another TV in a few hours and I need to know something that will probably affect what I choose. Is it true that S-Video bypasses the comb filter on TVs?
BTW, anyone know if 32" Sharps are generally good TVs?

Darren, Both Svideo and component video inputs bypass the tv's comb filter.
As for Sharp direct view tvs, I would say they are decent lower end tvs. I only have a newish 20 inch Sharp in our workout room, used only for cable and occasionally VHS tape. It is good for its purpose (cable looks decent) but it suffers from red push and has poor convergence and I believe, as Carol has pointed out in another thread, the built in speakers/audio are poor on the Sharps. I guess my opinion would be for a home theater set up Sharps are a step down from the low end Toshiba sets but your mileage may vary. I have a friend who owns a 27 inch Sharp and has a dvd player hooked up to the Svideo port and he loves the picture. I will say 20 inch Sharp (20NS100?) holds black level much better than my 27 inch Toshiba - 27A40 - set.
