need quick help deciding on a receiver (1 Viewer)

i have about 3 hours to decide. is the harman kardon avr330 a good receiver for $290us. its a clearance at circuit city and i have an older kenwood 500 watt 5.1 system and was thinking of getting this. would this be better or not. i cant tell you what my kenwood is. just that it was a htib.

was picking it up when another gentlmen got it. so i wasnt able to get it. but i will hopefully find another deal like that in a few years.

Whenever new models come out, the old ones always go on clearance. That's a good time to check local stores, because they want to get rid of the old ones, often at pretty good discounts. You can always ask them to sell you a demo or open box unit; they should still carry the manufacturer's warranty.

The weakest link in htib systems tends to be speakers so you might get more bang for your buck by upgrading those before the receiver.
