Need help with WMP (1 Viewer)

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with Windows media player. I cannot even open it without it giving me some error message. I tried to download it from windows site however it crashed my computer. Then I downloaded it from download.com and reinstalled it, and now it won't even open. What gives? Any ideas?

Scott,

What OS are you running? You may be trying to install the XP WMP instead of 7.1 and that might be your problem.

I am running win98. I did not see any difference in the versions, however I will check it out. Thank you.

also be sure to update to DirectX 8.1 as well.
