Need help with Sony TA-E90ES preamp (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Can someone please give some advice regarding my preamp? Here's the problem: sometimes when listening to my stereo the sound will either stop, as though pushing the mute button, or be reduced to a barely audible level. The sound will return to normal once I turn off the preamp, unplug the power cord, then turn it back on. Any ideas what is causing this?
