Recently I noticed that when I have my receiver on and either turn on or turn off another component there is a popping noise. This noise will also occur if I turn the ceiling lights on or off. My question is what is causing this? Will a line conditioner help? Thanks for any advice.

If this is the case, I would highly recommend a line conditioner/surge suppressor. Are you plugging into a grounded 3-prong outlet? If so, have you checked to see that it is actually grounded? If not, the suppressor will not help because you won't be able to plug it in. If the outlet is not grounded, again the suppressor won't be able to do it's job.

Thanks for the reply. I have the whole system connected to a regular surge protector, cheap one. I know the outlet is three pronged and there is a ground wire connected so I assume it is grounded.
