Hi,

I have a problem. I am an audiodumdum. I have an RCA receiver; it is about 8 years old. It used to work. Now, not so much. I have a DVD player, and a CD player hooked up to it. There is also a TV and some game consoles but they are not directly hooked up to the receiver. I can get the audio to work only in stereo on the 2 main speakers. All other speakers have a buzzing sound when I try to use them. I have hooked it up, and re-hooked it up many times. I have run new speaker wire to all speakers, and I am stumped. Is there anything, anyone can think of that may cause this problem? I am all out of options.

Please Help!!!!! :frowning:

I'd check 2 things before going on a shopping spree (granted that does not take much convinving for me!)

1. Humming may be a very BAD grounding problem. If your receiver is plugged into a power strip, unplug everything and run the receiver power directly to the wall

2. If that does not fix anything, have you tried switching known "good" speaker with a "bad"one? This will tell you if you have a speaker or a receiver problem.

It sounds to me like your receiver might be toast though.:frowning:
