This is probably rather novice, but I recently purchased a JVX XV-SA75 used mainly for the fact that my old player broke, and I wanted to upgrade to DVD-A capabilites since my car's headunit was also DVD-A compatible and I'd already bought a few discs for it and they sound amazing. My receiver is a Kenwood VR-505, nothing amazing, but it's done the trick. The optical out on the DVD player works fine with DVD video's presenting 5.1 audio. However with the DVD-A discs, it won't process the 5.1 tracks, only stereo, basically defeating the purpose of having the DVD-A's. The manual says that DD can only be achieved with the RCA outputs on the unit for sub/c/f/r, but my receiver doesn't have RCA speaker inputs, only single sets for a TV, etc., then a coaxial and an optical input. Now my question is, is there any possible way to go from all those RCA's into either the coax or optical input on my receiver, or is my only real choice to upgrade my receiver? Hope that wasn't too confusing, thanks for the help.
