Need Help with install (1 Viewer)

I have just installed a new inwall surround sound system. I have also remotely placed the receiver.

Equipment
Sony 60" 4k
Harmon Kardon Receiver

My problem is I can not get the sound from the smart tv to play on the surround sound.

I can play music from the radio or Bluetooth. But not from the Tv.

I have an HDMI ran through the ceiling 50' to the receiver. I can see the receiver menu on the tv. But I can not get the sound from the tv to play.

When I power on the TV it powers on the receiver and says "switching to audio system"

Also when I power down the tv the receiver powers down.

Please help ASAP

Your receiver must have ARC HDMI that will allow the signal to go both directions. Also, 50’ is stretching the limits of HDMI.

Thank you! Once I plugged in in to the ARC plug on both it worked perfect.
