X264

1080p
1080i

720p
(There is no 720i)

Blu-ray

DivX

MKV

AVI

HDMI / HDTV

And I have no idea what a micro HD rip is, but it sounds like it would be a way to rip HD material. Ripping HD material, along with your listing some of the other terms (Divx is one, "burned" is another) which are utilized in the unlawful reproduction/distribution of copyrighted works and/or the disabling of copy protection schemes, are forbidden topics here at the HTF. It is ok to ask what they are, but if you are looking for ways to rip copyrighted material, you've come to the wrong place.

Tread lightly, sir.

Thanks for the info Jeff Gatie, I was just curious and wanted to know.
I have been going thru most of the posts and was impressed by the amount of info/knowledge at ones disposal. And the replies to most of the question posted here on the board is very professional.
Only thing i feel sad about is that i am unable to contirbute anything useful.

And thanks for your advice.

Believe me, your questions themselves are useful. There are many other people wondering the same things, some of them too shy to post, so anytime a new member asks questions and gets good answers, he or she is helping many others who may only be lurking on the forum. Besides, this hobby grows on you, and you'll learn a lot about these things just by setting up and enjoying a home theater of your own. Soon you'll be as knowledgeable (and opinionated) as the rest of us. ;)

Welcome aboard,

Joe
