    Having problems with the audio.

I am replacing my Toshiba sd 1200 with a Panny RP56 getting ready for a new HDTV in future. The Toshiba was connected on the back with a cable running from pcm/bitstream to my Denon 4800 to the coaxial in. The Panny does not have this pcm bitstream output, so does this mean I have to use an optical cable to get the desired output?

Apparently this model only has an optical out-put. So , yes, you will have to use an optical cable to get the digital bitstream. Theres no 5.1 out-put either. Don't worry, optical is as good or better than a co-ax hook-up. Personal preference...havn't heard much difference here.
