I agree with you... it's weird. Especially since I had success with my previous pioneer vsx-1016's MCACC. I ran it 3 times... all times I made sure there were no ambient noises present... no footsteps,etc. Each time, it completely took out the lows and mids.
I am fairly content, however, keeping the speaker volume settings set by the MCACC and the distances. I tweaked the EQ back to my liking... it sounds good.
Thanks for the advice on the center channel. I figured as much. On occasion the dialog can be lost a little... most likely because my sat set-up has a smaller center channel. It's not that bad though...
I'll keep fooling around with the MCACC to see if I can get something to come out differently.
