I have a problem with my Sony DVP-S7000 DVD player.
It is the original flagship Sony DVD player with the internal switches inside. My problem is one that I believe occurs on other Sony players as well. After playing a movie for a while, the DVD player turns off into standby mode with the disc inside. It then takes a few attempts to get the panel to open back up and try again. I have seen someone mention this problem before with another Sony player and wonder if there was ever any solution. I don't really want to send it away to Sony and pay $150 and I am not sure what an authorized repair center would charge. Any info would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michael

It used to be that when Sony got hold of one of these they'd remove the internal switches. I don't know if they still do that but I'd be very, very leery of letting them get hold of it.

For less money then $150 you could buy a Sony 7700 from the for sale area that would be very similar to your 7000 but give you DTS as well.
