I saw this movie about 20 years ago on TV. It's a little vague in my mind, but I sure want to see it again.
An American woman strikes up a penpal relationship with a man in England. They are both bookish people; I think they both worked in antique bookstores.
As I recall, this woman was a liberal and involved in antiwar protests in the 60s.
They carry on a mail relationship, not romantic, for decades. Then he dies and she is informed of this.
The film is in colour, and may have been made in the 1980s.
