I am potentially going to get some theater seats and would like to add tiered seating to my HT room.
    Here's my current pictures:

I want a TV stand that will support my 250lb RPTV and a foot high platform for the tiered 2nd row of seating which theater seats will bolt to. Anyone have any plans or ideas? Should I hire a carpenter to build the boxes, or can I do that myself? I can screw screws and nail nails and cut and measure and drill, but that's about the extent of my building skills. I'm not really a DIY'r but would attempt this project unless someone tells me I'd be an idiot to try.
    Thanks

You might find the information in this thread useful:

As followup, you might want to e-mail the people who said they've done something similar to what you have in mind to get them to post answers to any specific questions that reading their responses there might pose.
    Good luck!
