I feel like an idiot asking a question with what is probably a very obvious answer but..........

I have a new Tosh 40H80 and a brand new AVIA disc. Where do I start? I have the specifics for getting into service mode but where do I go from there? I really need to run a 56 pt convergence due to some non-horiz. lines. Everything else looks good but I plan on doing the whole shooting match. So could someone just get me started. (You'd think a former B52 bomb dropper could figure this out himself!)

Thanks in advance:b

Hey Larry,
Congrats on your new purchase...Im currently in the middle of setting up my 65h80 so I know the woes you are going through...Thanks to this forum and the great girls/guys posting on it...theyve helped me out (Thanks goes out to those people:) )
first off if you dont already know about it you can start hear
http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/
Youll find a wealth of information on your set there..
To learn about the sequence of tweaks and calibrations read this:
http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/usefu..._sequence.html
this should get your "road map" and "to do" list organized so you know what you are headed for and when.
First and formost if you havent already, learn about disabling Scan Velocity Modulation..you can do this in a number of ways (whatever suits you). The below link can get you started (I think in one of the examples they even use a 40h80)
http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/usefu...m_disable.html
And finally research a bit...
The below 2 links have helped me out immensly when calibrating my set They are directed toward Toshiba Owners.. Ive found all the answers Ive ever needed with this forum and any of the links on this reply Im sending you..
http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/usefu...hiba_tips.html

This should be all you need to get going....let us know how everything works out...Im off to watch the sopranos :)
