Ok I just got done building my new computer. Everything was going fine. I was installing xp. I took a bathroom brake and when I came back my computer was off. Now when I try to start it , it only stays on for about 3 seconds and then turns off. What could have happened. What should I do!! Please help me.

    Thanks Troy

yikes that sounds scary! When weird crap like that happens to one of my older puters it's because I left it on a long time, so I have to leave it off for a full night to let it cool down. Maybe the CPU fan is spinning to slow and the mobo bios is shutting the system down as a safeguard? If you wanna try a quick fix go to CompUSA and buy a PSU to see if that's the problem. Return it if it isn't.

    What CPU/motherboard setup is this?

I would double check all your conncetions inside your box, especially, CPU and fan, RAM, and video cards.

Hi Troy, I would suggest you check you power connects or check your power supply. Are you using a new or used case??
