I have a pair of Energy Reference Connoisseur Loudspeakers and a pair of Energy .5 Bookshelfs that I was hoping to use as rears in a HT.

Can anyone tell me how to match up a center & sub. I have no idea how to match speakers by specification.

    Here's what specs I have.

    Freq Response: 28-45kHz +/- 3db on axis
    28-20kHz +/- 2 dB @ 30 degrees off axis
    Crossover: 1.5kHz @ 18dB per octave
    Sensitivity: 86 dB @ 1 watt @ 1 meter
    Impedance: 8 ohms Nominal
Rec Amp Power: 20-200 watts per channel

    Freq Response (+/- 3 dB): 60Hz - 20 Hz
    Crossover: 3000 Hz
    Room Efficiency: 89.5 dB
    Anechoic Sensitivity (2.83u @ 1 m): 86.5 dB
Impedance: 8 ohms (nominal) 45 ohms (min)
    Rec. Amp. Power (

If the main speakers are the Reference 22 from the original Energy Connoisseur series (I'm assuming they are from the specs), try and find a used Energy RVS to use as the centre speaker. I think that would be the closest.
If they are the next generation C series (C2, C4, C6 and C8) then the AC300 from Energy would be the perfect match.
Any good sub will do too; it doesn't have to be the same brand as the speakers. You will find lots of good subs recommended on this forum.
