I need to fax a document and I've never done so via my PC (6 monyh old running XP)

I found that I have the Fax program in Windows, but it acts like it wants to use the standard V.90 modem rather than my DSL.

I used my HP printers program to scan the document and chose to fax it, but when it tried, it said phone was in use and it wouldn't send...

How in the world do I get a fax to go out correctly?

    All info is appreciated.

Unless something has changed, or you're using a product like eFax, all faxes must be sent via a standard modem (not DSL or Cable or IP setups)
