I'm at a dead end, and if anyone here could help me out, I would be extremely grateful! For a week I've been trying to convert quicktime trailers into mpeg to burn to VCD, but every attempt has failed. Would it be possible for someone here to convert the trailers for me and send me the MPEG files so I can burn them? If not, what other options are there?
Thanks again guys!

Adobe Premiere can do it, but it takes time. I'd offer to do it for you, but I'm going on vacation tomorrow and my flight leaves in nine hours. Still gotta pack and get some sleep!

The problem is that none of the mPEG encoders read the current version of Sorenson. You need to use QuickTime Pro to export to another format first

I last did this about two months ago, for the Episode II trailers. It is very easy. First, you need a program called TMPG, which you can find at VCDHelp.com, to convert them. Then, it's just a matter of converting and burning them, Nero 5.5 works wonders for this. I suggest you make SVCDs and not VCDs as the quality is much higher. Also, you will need QuickTime 5 Pro if you want the highest quality. Good Luck.

Thanks guys. Now my only problem is saving the Quicktime trailers onto my hard drive. Does anyone know how to do this, since apple won't let you manually save them?
Thanks!

Do you have QuickTime 5 Pro? If not, you won't be able to save the movies on your hard drive (Well, you can but it's complicated.) All you have to do is click the little arrow at the lower right hand portion of the QuickTime window and select "Save as QuickTime Movie", simple as that.

Travis,
I found the serial number online to turn it into the Pro edition, but it doesn't seem to work. What's the complicated way to saving them to the hard drive?

I'm glad it doesn't work. Software and serial numbers shouldn't be pirated off the web. Apple fronts the development costs for QuickTime and anyone that wants to take full advantage of its features should fork over the $29.95 for a legit copy of QuickTime Pro.

It's ridiculous to have to go through all of this, and it's stupid to pay $30 for what little extra you actually get, even if it is the conversion. They're trailers for crying out loud! It shouldn't' be this difficult.

Ah yes, the mantra of all software thieves..."It's a rip off for what you get." Time to ante up if you need the software. I use Photoshop and it cost me a pretty penny. I use only a fraction of the features it offers. That doesn't mean I should be entitled to a discount.

Even if I did buy the full version, it's not guaranteed to convert every quicktime file. I've heard stories of people buying it and it not even working with their files. It's a shot in the dark.

It converts all quiktime formats and allows for adding of effects and many other things. The price roughly works out to $15 a year and is well worth it. Usually your key is valid for the current version and all preview editions of the next version, in some instances it will work for two editions and the next preview if you buy close enough to the new release.
The only shot in the dark is you punching in illegal codes, because the specs are available.

Thanks for the information. I could've sworn that it only converted certain quicktime files, but I guess I was mistaken. I'm sorry if I offended anyone or caused any riffs here. I didn't purposely seek out the serial number, I just happended to stumble upon it on a message board and tried it out to see what would happen.
