my friend is looking for an extremely budget friendly surround sound system.
So naturally, I turned to eBay.

I found these in wall speakers.

I plan on hooking all of those speakers up to this Sony STR-DG820 system.
The back panel of this system looks like this.

I am not sure how I would connect the subs to this receiver. Could I utilize both subs? Or would I have to sacrifice one?
Also, are these speakers decent speakers?

thanks for all the help.

he is getting an addition on to his house and his family prefers them.

i'm not concerned about the sound quality of the speakers, they will be amazed with any kind of surround sound.
they are technologically inept and wouldn't recognize good quality speakers from bad quality speakers anyway.

is this subwoofer compatible with this receiver?
even if i hook up only one?
and if so, how do i hook it up?

I would hook up the subs to speaker B.

Then make sure you are running A+B at all times.

In the speaker setup, set all speakers to small- except the subs. Set them to large.

Also check if you can swith the crossover settings. Make the five set to 80 hrtz and above. Set the subs to 80 hrtz and below.

A and B speakers are usually running off of the same amp channel. You can't route the LFE channel to speaker B.

I suggest you get the speakers in and find out the impedance of the subs. If they are 8 ohm speakers, you can run a pair of them with a single amp from Parts Express. Size and type will vary by the quality of the sub. If they are both 4 ohm drivers, then you can use a pair of sub and or a 2 channel amp like the Behringer A-500.
